Purpose-Built Graduate Student Housing at the Medical College of Wisconsin

Commons at MCW is a new graduate student housing development located on the Medical College of Wisconsin campus in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the project will introduce 266 apartments and 306 beds, providing purpose-built housing for graduate students within the MCW community. As the institution's first planned on-campus student housing development, the project represents a significant investment in expanding residential opportunities, improving campus accessibility, and supporting the academic and personal needs of graduate students.

Developed by General Capital in collaboration with the Medical College of Wisconsin, AG Architecture, and Findorff, construction began in June 2026, with a ceremonial groundbreaking held on July 28, 2026. The development will feature two partial levels of structured parking beneath the residential building, along with modern amenities including fitness facilities, collaborative study areas, meeting spaces, social lounges, a coffee lounge, clubroom, and rooftop patio. Construction is scheduled for completion in April 2028, with initial student occupancy anticipated in May 2028. Commons at MCW will establish a connected residential environment that combines convenient campus access with spaces designed to support student living, collaboration, and community engagement.
