Berkshire–Ashwaubenon

Ashwaubenon, WI

A dynamic independent senior community in the shadow of Lambeau Field.

As the Village of Ashwaubenon sought to redevelop Mike McCarthy Way from a mixed industrial brownfield area to a vibrant mixed use entertainment zone near Lambeau Field, General Capital worked with Village stakeholders to envision a mixed-use urban infill development that would respond to the Village’s growing need for high-quality affordable housing within walking distance of the Village Center. The final design includes a 3-story independent senior building set tight to the street, reflecting the Village’s desire for a pedestrian-oriented street. Commercial space housing Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin anchors the ground floor. The back side of the property facing Borvan Avenue includes two townhome buildings as workforce housing.

The Village took advantage of a unique opportunity to apply for a significant allocation of Badger Bounce Back funding (state ARPA funds) to support the project. General Capital also received over $900,000 in State of Wisconsin HOME funds. Together, these resources allowed the project to move forward during one of the most challenging construction environments in recent history.
