Once owned by elderly heirs of the original developer, the Fox Point Shops was deteriorating from deferred maintenance and a lack of professional real estate management.
When General Capital acquired the property in 1995 (with partner Scott Sampson), high vacancy and low retail traffic suggested pure retail use was no longer viable. Originally anchored by a Kohl’s foodstore, the shopping center was better suited for a mix of neighborhood-oriented shops and professional services. General Capital successfully re-oriented the project as a service center that includes office, medical, dental and other services.
A significant exterior renovation was completed in early in 2010. The center, now anchored by Wheel & Sprocket and General Capital’s corporate offices, is 100% leased.
